Noorduyn Norseman UC-64AS, Built by Noorduyn Aircraft Ltd out of Canada, 3 types of landing gear (floats, wheels, and skis), High wings allowed easier loading of cargo and passengers.
History
During WWII, both the RCAF and the USAAF were interested in an aircraft such as this Norseman for landing or taking off in different types of terrain. The Lend Lease Program operated the Norseman as a search and rescue airplane. When the war was over, it served Island Airways between 1946 and 1948. It served on Wien Airways for delivering mail to the bush. Then served on Alaska Airlines between 1956 and 1961. It was flown from Washington up to Alaska where it retired at the Pioneer Air Museum in 1992. The museum is open between Mid-May and Mid-September
