Alaska Railroad Caboose 1091

Built by Point St. Charles Shop

History

1091, 1092, and 1093, were designed for international shipping between the United States and Canada. These were sent to CECCO in the State of Washinton for repairs and to be repainted before being sent up to Alaska for service in 2000. 1091 retired in 2009 and it was used as a coffee shop by the up at the old Tesoro convenient store on the Parks Highway in Ester, AK. It shut down in 2023. Current plans for the caboose are unknown at this time.
