Addie Camp

History

Served for the Oregon Electric Railway 3 years after being Subsidiary of the Spokane Portland & Seattle Railway. This operated here from 1913-1933 when passenger service was suspended. In 1934 it went to work for the Skagit River Railway which was headquartered out of Newhalem, WA. They operated this coach between New Halen and Diablo to transport workers to and from their jobs along the Skagit River. Unfortunately, the dam washed out the railroad having to shut it down in 1954 before going on display at the Willamette Valley Electric Railway Association in Glenwood, OR From 1955 to 1966. It served on tour trains from 1966-1970 on the Vernonia South Park & Sunset Steam Railway Association in the State of Oregon then transferred to Black Hills Express in the State of South Dakota until 2017. Went out of operation then taken up to Soldotna, AK, and was turned into a beautiful restaurant with delicious dinner as Addie Camp on the Whistle Hill Property.
