Alaska Railroad #1718

Served for the United States Army operating in Germany, France, and Belgium in the mid 1950's. it was sent back to the United States to serve for the United States Navy in 1970. Alaska Railroad adopted this locomotive from 1977-1999. The year after this locomotive was retired, donors purchased this EMD for $3,000 to be displayed at the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry
